The Woodland Trust are the UK's leading woodland conservation charity, working to plant trees, protect woods and inspire people to enjoy the nature on their doorstep.

Carbon capture and storage

Most forms of travel lead to carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere, which is contributing to climate change and posing a threat to our woodlands and wildlife. As well as taking steps to reduce our personal carbon footprints, we can also take steps to help reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere; using nature’s own tried and tested form of carbon capture and storage - the humble tree.

Where you can make an impact

With our customers' help Eurocamp have committed to funding 50,000 square metres of native Woodland in a North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cumbria, the equivalent of 7 football pitches! The Woodland Trust calculates this planting will capture and store 2,000 tonnes of CO² over time. Your support will make a lasting difference ensuring there are trees for the future.

The area where the trees are being planted forms part of a Site of Special Scientific interest (SSSI). The trees will be planted to maintain and enhance the open habitat, which already includes 16 ancient monuments ranging from Neolithic burial mounds to medieval villages. The area also boasts a wide range of wildlife including endangered red squirrel, great crested newt and the black grouse.
