A busy weekly market is held in the small town of Ploumanc'h which is in walking distance of the parc. If you'd like to walk a bit further, take a stroll along the old smugglers paths which go for miles along the Pink Granite coastline. Alternatively take a boat trip out to Les Sept Isles, located off the coast of Perros Guirec, the home of seals and 27 different species of birds.

Art Rock Festival - Whitsun

Once every year, the streets of St Brieuc in Brittany come alive with music, dance, theatre, contemporary arts and circus acts for the Art Rock festival. Enjoy the sounds of established cult rock music icons, or head for the event's own gourmet food festival - the Rock'n Toques - and sample some of the best Breton cuisine available.

Off Parc Activities

This parc provides the perfect opportunity to get out into the countryside for long strolls and nature watching. There is a particularly lovely route along the coast to Ploumanach where the weekly market is held. A little further along the coast, along the old smugglers paths, are the beautiful pink granite rocks.

A great range of sporting facilities can be found nearby: you can play tennis, give windsurfing a go, ride the waves with a spot of surfing or bob along in a kyak, all under 3 km away. Not too far away there is also a driving range, horse riding and canoeing.

Walking

Walking and hiking

Brittany’s landscapes are as varied as they are spectacular. It’s a region of great diversity, full of natural landscapes, seascapes, and heritage, inhabited by Neolithic men! Walking helps you discover Brittany’s many species of flora and fauna, as well as its history – including Megoliths, Dolmans, Ancient Mills and Chateaux - and the best places are often found off-road!

Whether it’s the dramatic coastline, or hidden valleys, there are lots of tracks and trails to explore. La Ranolien campsite lies on the Cotes D’Amor in Northern Brittany, probably best known as Le Granit Rose (Pink Granite Coast), a huge area of conservation with its weird and wonderful rock formations, small coves, and offshore islands. For nature lovers, the Sept-Iles - a boat trip away - is a fantastic area for sea birds from May to September, and you can also visit the nearby Bird Station on Ile Grande. Walking on the coast would not be the same without an appreciation of the amazing sea life surrounding you, so why not visit a sea aquarium to find out all about it on the Tregastel walk, close to the campsite.
