The Dordogne is famous for its castles, caves, châteaux and medieval villages, with beautiful panoramic views and deep cut river valleys all around you. This rich landscape is also dotted with historic farms, natural woodlands, forests, walnut groves and traditional villages of honey-coloured stone. In spring, the fields are full of poppies and wild flowers, not to mention the warblers who have just returned from their winter migration to warmer climes. In spring and summer, a host of multi-coloured butterflies waft across every path, and you may also spot dragonflies and kingfishers along the river edges, making this a truly wonderful walking destination.
