We had a lovely relaxing stay at La Yole last week. The accommodation is basic but was presented very cleanly. The mobiles are a little closer together than we would have preferred but the grounds were pleasant with plenty of trees and shrubs. Beware of going the last couple of weeks of the season like we did because the place has a definite 'closing down' feel. The shop was running low on lots of basics (empty freezers etc) and staff were closing down tents around us which was slightly disconcerting. Having said that, we went for good rest so it was quieter for this reason. The performers were very enthusiastic and it is very geared towards little kids. The beach is a short stroll away....very nice. The nearest town is a little too far to walk and the last bus is about 7pm so if you want a lively evening you're talking taxis. Our hosts Rob and Ann were lovely...unobtrusive but there if you needed anything. The local buses are great...50p to go anywhere as far as Bezier. Airport to camp....use shuttle outside airport then no. 16 bus right outside camp or taxi is about 40 quid. We're vegetarians so food in restaurants was limited. Food in camp shop is expensive....if there for a while go to local market on a monday in Valras plage to stock up.

We have been to this park 4 times now and the park is great. It was nice to see the pool had been updated.
The couriers however...
We only saw one courier who took us to our van.
The van was not very clean. Doors had dirty finger marks up them and the curtains had mold on.
Our gas ran out and we left a message on the pad in the Eurocamps office, as there was never anyone there, to be told later we needed to text the courier for gas. We had not been told this previously. This also presumes the customer has a phone that can be used abroad!!
The first day we cleaned the van which was not a good start to the holiday.
We only saw the courier once in the 2 weeks we were on site and we asked about a particular market opening times and never had a response. In the end we went to the site information office, who were very helpful.
In summary, site was great as always, but the couriers were disappointing as was the cleanliness of the van

We were a little unprepared for the change in the south to what we had experienced previously in parcs further up the country and especially coming from the Loire on the way down. I'll confess it took us a couple of days to get used to it being so big and busy and noisier, especially in the evenings.
The pitches were small and our neighbours very close, it felt constantly busy and dusty (but then you are in the south) having said that the facilities were great, the pool area fantastic and lack of sunbeds was made up for by a fake grass area which was actually better with small children. Our older daughter had great fun cycling 'laps' around our section of the campsite and being able to walk to the beach was a real bonus.
We also explored some of the surrounding area - Beziers, Carcassonne and Gruissan all of which were lovely.
I would recommend this parc if you like evening entertainment, poolside fun and visiting surrounding area. Not for you if you want to sit and relax on your deck in the evening.
