Overall, holiday was good. Parc was good and met our needs; children enjoyed Club run by Eurocamp and the pool. Shop, take-away, bar and restaurant all adequate - restaurant was one of the better ones we have encountered after several years of Eurocamping. Pitches large and quiet. Site was compact.
First time in the Loire and whilst interesting, not as pretty or as much to do as Dordogne (for example).
L'Etang de La Breche is a first class site. I have been camping in France for over thirty years and this is one of the best sites I have visited. It is well maintained - lovely swimming pools, beautiful courtyard restaurant and bar and so safe for the children. it is spotlessly clean- just can't fault it. Saumur is just down the road and is a beautiful little town with a lovely castle. A perfect base for a holiday. We met many people who return year after year and we can see why!
The holiday was mixed with good and bad points. We have stayed on better sites than this in the past and were disappointed with the site, the accommodation and the couriers. The area however was very nice with lots to see.
The area was lovely and the accommodation was very good(Aspect). However, the parc and the facilities appeared quite run down compared to other parcs I have stayed at and the four pools were very small and crammed together with little room to sunbathe. We had planned on spending more time by the pool but left the parc each day to go out rather than use the facilities.
Overall it was a good holiday. I was quite put out on arrival at the lack of coffee machine, which I had to buy myself. I understand that there had been a safety recall but felt that eurocamp could have made an effort to supply replacements. They are readily available!
