We picked this site because we wanted a break on journey back from Italy and because we had not visited the country before. Site was well located with generous pitches and very good facilities. Luxembourg was lovely, with beautiful scenery and a very interesting capital city.
Fab location. We did lots of forest trail running and sightseeing. Camp was great for the kids too, great facilities. Pool was open 9-9 and undercover when needed. Full 25m pool so we got some lengths done in the morning too.
Nice and relaxing place to be. Our Esprit 3+1 thingy had it's own almost private garden in a nice quiet area of the park. The park had a decent playground area. The advertised free Wi-Fi would only work at the reception/playground area while we were there - not in our accommodation or anywhere else on the site - the courier did suggest that unfortunately this might be the case upon our arrival. We looked for the horses but couldn't find them. Also couldn't find any mention of the advertised balloon rides anywhere - I suppose we could have asked reception but we didn't, although at the same time, we didn't see any balloons flying about during our 3 days in Luxembourg. Luxembourg City is definitely worth a visit and for anyone who plays tennis, last time we went to Luxembourg (about 10 years ago) we played at the sports centre at Kockelscheuer (very near Luxembourg City) - it wasn't what we had expected - turned out to be an indoor tennis stadium which is used for the ATP Luxembourg Open - Venus Williams and the like have played there in recent years. The place is still there and I'd assume it's still open to the general public - certainly the best place I'll ever play tennis - unfortunately didn't get round to it this time. A walk from the site down steps takes you down from the hills into Larochette, where there are several bars/cafe's, an old church to look around and a castle all within a short walk from the site. Highly recommend the site and the country as a relaxing break for couples. We were there for 3 days as part of a longer Eurocamp break and wished we had stayed here a bit longer.
The campsite staff were very helpful and the atmosphere within the camp was family friendly. The static caravan was clean and had good quality mattresses for a good sleep. The only negative was that the toilet was very small and it had no wash basin. The shower room area was a good size and had a decent wash basin.
Resturant a bit on expensive side, 24 euros for a steak is ridiculous, no menu on mon only pasta and average pizzas, larochette quite pretty but overall Luxembourg a tad dull, trip to triere in Germany best day.
