One of the most popular attractions in the area is Aqualand Water Park in St Cyprien, just 8 miles away. This water park has an excellent selection of slides and is suitable for toddlers and teenagers, so you can whizz down the almost vertical ‘Niagra’ slide for adrenaline fun, or splash around under the big mushrooms at the mini park.

Argelès Aventure will also offer you lots of thrills as you leap through the sky towards a cargo net or zoom down a zip wire at the high wire forest adventure. There's loads of different courses to discover with varying degrees of difficulty and is accessible to those from 5 years and older, and there's a mini course for very small children too.
Argelès-sur-Mer and the surrounding area retains a lot of Catalan traditions and to celebrate this there is a museum in the heart of the old village, next to the medieval church, which shows wine making and crafts common to the villages in the region and a collection of tools and materials. Take your pick from lots of delicious seafood restaurants too.
For a great way to see the striking Pyrénées there is a tourist train from Villefranche de Conflent. The town itself is beautiful, it's an 11th century medieval town fortified by Vauban, with narrow streets hiding local craftsmen and picturesque shops. The little yellow train takes you on one of the greatest railway journeys in the world. Tickets can be bought through SNCF.
