Feel like you are really exploring under the ocean when you walk through the glass tunnel and see the sharks above your head. Le Musée de Automates is also in La Rochelle, displaying exquisite mechanical toys and figures made by masters of their craft.

Start your holiday...
For a full day out La Rochelle has plenty of attractions to keep everybody entertained. It has a beautiful cathedral and gardens to explore and great restaurants for refreshments.
The harbour-side village of Loix en Ré must be explored. It is within walking distance of the parc, but why not arrive in style on a horse-drawn carriage? But if that is too flamboyant you can always take a canoe or bike.
The Musée Ernest Cognacq is a great cultural experience and is only 13 km from the parc. It is housed in the 15th century ‘Hôtel de Clerjotte’ in St Martin de Ré and is home to a number of collections and exhibitions dedicated to the history of the island.
La Flotte market is great for souvenirs and the narrow streets and pretty houses are lovely for just wandering around. The village also has the 12th century ruins of a Cistercian abbey, the church of Saint Catherine and the bell tower, which are all pretty sights.
