We are pensioners and thoroughly enjoyed this camp as it was quiet. We hired bikes from the campsite and cycled for miles along the islands many pathways. Ideal place to stay and hopefully we will be back soon.

Our 4-week holiday which covered the month of June and was built around Les Ilates with overnighting at both ends at St Pair in Normandy. The Fast Ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and back provided most suitable timings and the non-toll roads of France were a dream to drive on compared to those of southern England. We even had time to visit a D-Day museum on our way back near Carantec. My wife and I at around the 70 years mark do not need the extensive recreational facilities for younger generations as can be found at larger parcs. We had carried our own bicycles and by taking car and bikes to central locations were thus able to cycle the many miles of bicycle paths to cover the whole of the island and explore the several towns. This is a very popular recreation, the landscape being almost flat. Loix village is large and yet compact and is suffused with the scent of flowers. The bakery/teashop and the fishmongers in the small marketplace are to be recommended and only a 5 minute bike ride away. There are 2 local small sandy beaches, again a short ride away and no problems in parking a car if required but the large tidal movement means the swimming window is similar to that of Weston-Super-Mare and the parc pool or a trip to a southern beach better options for swimmers. The weather was unseasonably cool and breezy for the early part of our holiday and rained once but for 48 hours. Would we visit again? Could be, but then, this is Eurocamping with so many choices of places to go.
