Always great to be back in the Vendée, with wall-to-wall sunshine, miles of beach and waves galore. Such a soft spot for towns like St Gilles Croix de Vie, especially on market days - fresh produce from local growers, and great pastries. We had a couple of days in Les Sables d'Olonne and Challans this year too - a bit different from the sleepier towns. Being there for the Bastille Day fireworks (again in St Gilles) is something we always go for - stunning!

We have been on countless eurocamp holidays over the years with our own three children and now with one of our children, partner and grand daughter...our overall impression is that the booking system is still fantastic, plenty of help and advice when needed, the problem is that your customer service is now sadly lacking...when we used to take our own family, there was always a welcome guide in your accommodation with plenty of helpful advice and leaflets on what is available in the area, that is no longer
You always got a small gift before the holiday arrived, which I realise is not cost effective anymore
We asked for accommodation to be close to one another, we realise that this is subject to availability, but when one caravan is close to the pool and the other next to the access to the beach and shops, you do question if any effort was made in making our request a reality..
Our daughters caravan was lovely, airy, modern and clean, which she needed with a toddler.
Ours was old, dated and the mattresses on all beds were in dire need of replacement, we did not mention this to the couriers as this is probably out of their hands..
On arrival at the site we were met by a very friendly helpful courier and told us that although we had arrived earlier than we anticipated to, our caravans were ready, which was very helpful after a long drive either side of the site and was much appreciated..
I was stunned though when we were given a map of the site and an X marks the site of your caravan, off you go and find....in the past you were escorted by the courier on their bike and you following in your vehicle to your caravan and then given a tour of your accommodation and any issues resolved there and then, if any...
Like I say small things, but small things can become the make or break of a holiday
Would I recommend eurocamp again...
I am unsure
The campsite is lovely, clean and well maintained, facilities on site fantastic, but your service and cleanliness of some caravans could be better

Bit of an expensive option as there are only two if us, but we love it so much, we keep returning in fact we have booked to go back again for a month, and this time it's much better value as we're going earlier, so looking forward to it. Our caravan position was fantastic, maybe a couple of issues with the cooker and the shower head, both a bit old I think, but we had a great time and are looking forward to going back for the fifth time!

we stayed here with our 2 sons aged 7 and 4. we stayed in a 2 bed vista. a little disappointed that after a long journey and we arrived about 12pm we where told we couldn't check in until 3 although our caravan was ready. the accomadation was small. it was difficult to find room for all our stuff but we managed it and it was quite comfy when all sorted. large decking helped make it feel larger although close to both neighbour's. didn't bother us though. gas bbq was a plus!! the park was fab especially for kids. great parks and pools although a little crowded we always got a sun bed to put our stuff on. entertainment was great but did get busy so sometimes we struggled to see the stage. Also parents let there kids do what they like and go where they like whilst sitting and drinking made the games room impossible to get in and actually go on things and older kids would over take the parks in the evening and where rough with my little ones. all staff where lovely especially bar staff but they should be stricter on parents watching there kids sone as young as 3 wondering around!!reasonable prices for takeaway food and often cheaper than getting the stuff in and cooking it yourself. nice food too boys loved the pasta .supermarket is very close but not cheap. Area is lovely, fantastic clean beach with a hut to get food and drink again cheap. and a few bars down the road that where nice. you can also rent bikes.kids had a fantastic time at the kids clubs. we are looking to go back again next year but would go for a avant as they are much bigger and nicer we viewed one whilst there. we went mid June I think summer holidays would be crazy and a totally different experience.
