We had a wonderful holiday at Les Ecureuils, our three daughters aged ten, six and one had an amazing, fun filled time at this lovely little campsite, the older two in particular loved the impressive pool complex of slides, lazy river and the warmer indoor pool. There is a smaller pool for toddlers but it was a little too deep for our little one to have the 'independent' freedom she would've liked ( without us holding her hand haha ).
This campsite is immaculate and spotlessly clean with the friendly camp owners working tirelessly to maintain its high standards. For the first time, this year we stayed in the Avant. We were so impressed! It was again spotlessly clean, contemporary and spacious with the decking area especially so.
The camp shop was as expected to be small and limited but perfect for the essentials such as milk, croissants and baguette. We shopped around and found Lidl in St Jean de Monts to be the most reasonable.

The play park on site looks brand new and is far better than some of the larger parks we've been to.

The bar is small yet more than adequate for the occasional thirst quencher but a little pricey now that the pound is at its lowest against the euro.

The Park's located across the road to the sand dunes which leads to the beautifully clean sandy beach, although a slight warning to those with babies.... I'd recommend a baby carrier to bring your baby to the beach as no pushchair would cope with this terrain, it felt like a small expedition at times but this didn't stop us visiting the beach numerous times and we were grateful for the exercise anyway.

The local area is limited for those who like explore short distances by foot, Les Mouttes is half a mile away with gifts shops and restaurants etc and although we had a very good meal at Les Sirenes the area is sadly tacky and lacking that sought after authentic French feel. Exploring beyond the locality we enjoyed an days out at St Gilles Croix De Vie and St Jean De Monts and as nice as they are, again they didn't satisfy from a French Cultural point of view but are nice Seaside typical resorts.

Ok for the minor issues...
The accommodation should have Air Con as standard as on the sunny days in excess of 30deg C it was impossible to cool it down to a safe and suitable temperature for a baby to feel comfortable and sleep in at night, unfortunately this was coupled with no blackout blind in the room, again making the room uncomfortable for the baby.

The launderette was very expensive to use their machines.

So for those looking for a sunny, relaxing, seaside type holiday we would have no reservations recommending the lovely Les Ecreuils to anyone.

Friendly staff, well run camp. Very helpful when my son was ill getting the on call doctors number and offering personal phone to call. Pool is freezing for little ones would be my only criticism. Amy house restaurant take away did awesome moules frites!

Excellent site, close to the beach and other facilities. Atlantic Toboggan water park is a must visit especially for older children

Lovely park, excellent location close to beach, and wonderful swmming pool. Accommodation was fine, although Would have liked more information about the surrounding villages before I booked, very little choice in terms of cafes etc. Overall, though, a great holiday.

Gravesend, Kent
Fantastic time with our 3 and 6 year old. Camp was very clean and caravan well equipt. Kids loved the pool but not enough sun beds. Could have done with a little more entertainment at night but overall a very good holiday. It felt very safe and was a friendly site.
