Wander around Le Jardin de Olfacties to see nature at its best. Visit on a Wednesday or Friday evening when stunning, fragrant flowers are accentuated by music and lighting.
The zoo at Les Sables d’Olonne is a lovely day out. There are lots of wonderful animals, including tigers, elephants and giraffes, and you can even watch some of them being fed.
Le Grand Parc du Puy du Fou is a brilliant attraction. Wander round a reconstruction of an 18th century village and 13th century ruins, surrounded by people in authentic costume. There are falconry displays and Viking battles, but the highlight has to be the open-air night show with 850 people and 50 horsemen.
