Wonderful destination with fantastic views. Public transport runs like clockwork and friendly staff.

Has to be said it is expensive compared to home, but you know that before you go. Make use of the travel passes that you can buy for good value.

Switzerland has been a favourite destination of ours for more than 30 years but it has been more than 10 years since we last visited. I was pleased that not much has changed generally and it is still spotlessly clean.
We did find it much quieter than our previous visits at the same time of year and the demographic of tourists has changed. We wonder if that is down to cost. Unfortunately Switzerland is extremely expensive especially on the boats with the cost of a return trip to Thun being more than £100 for 2 adults. We went to Lake Garda last year and an equivalent distance was less than £30.
Thankfully we have done all the trips previously and as we had a car were able to find plenty to do

Expensive but the views were well worth it.. our best was the james bond restaurant at the top of shilthorn just check cloud cover before booking.
Beautiful villages around the area to visit and stunning walks with the best views.
On the negative side little to do in the evenings some lovely restaurants but if you are after a late night not for you...
