Normandy was lovely, lots of very pretty seaside towns including Houlgate. Nearby Dives was intersting; it was the port William the Conqueror left from for England in 1066 and full of beautiful historical buildings. The landing beaches and museums were nearby.
If, like us you want to experience the sacrifice and bravery that many of our allied forces went through on D-Day 70 years ago, then this is a must. If this is on you bucket list, then go. It was an honor and a privilege, at times quite humbling, upsetting and thought provoking at what our brave men went through. Normandy holds such sacrifice in so much beautiful countryside. From the vast fields to the golden beaches, each one hold its own story for the next generation to read and explore. Let us never forget.
