A lovely setting if you like peace and quiet with some beautiful scenery. An ideal base if you want to explore the surrounding area.

We found a couple of good beaches on the other side of Lake Annecy.

It's also well worth making a trip to Chamonix for a Gondola ride up Aiguille Du Midi mountain for the closest view you're likely to get of Mont Blanc. Scary but amazing!

Wonderful holiday location with so much to see and do! Lakes are good for sunbathing, swimming, water sports and being entertained watching others eg sky divers landing on a small square mat on a lake. Cycle paths and tracks are very good, much better than in England. Mountains can be walked up or else cable cars or railways can be used. Going up the highest peaks, snow can be found and it is a real strange sensation that at the bottom of a mountain eg Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix 25 degrees and very hot , but minus 3 at the top and still in shorts despite the snow.
