Only used as overnight stop in both directions so did not see much but have loved the area in the past.

Lovely towns and villages to visit, Louhans on the Monday for market, Buxy for the wine coop, Taize and Cluny for the spiritual aspect, Tournus for a good morning out and culture in the form of an evening concert. The Puilly- Fuisse wine area is marvellous, bought at Domaine Pierre Seve in Solutre several times now. The climb to the top of Solutre Rock is worth the view - on a clear day you can see the high Alps.

The site was delightful and very busy over the first weekend as the Chalain triathlon was taking place which was exhilarating to watch and very friendly and noisy. There was plenty to do, and many walks to go on, plus the beautiful lake was a major attraction.
The chalets did seem to be rather tightly packed and some of the parking places so tight many vehicles were parked partly on the road.
