Lowestoft Couple
Lots of lovely castles to see.Chambord was just behind the caravan site. Chencenou was our favourite castle. We found a fabulous restaurant called The Rhinocerous just 2 kilometres from the site. Only 11:50 euros for a 4 course lunch and 50 cents for a bottle of wine. Lots of local French people used the restaurant and the staff were really friendly. In the village was an amazing outlet selling goats cheese.

Plenty of chateaux to visit and wine-tasting places along the south bank west of the Saumur. Mushroom museums are a thing of the area. If you like caves then you'll be in cave-heaven as there are hundreds, some still being used as homes.

Very rural but plenty of towns and facilities. Good markets and food. Great chateaus and of course lots of wine. Many places offer wine tasting and tours
