So much of interest. We enjoyed the steam train from Anduze to St.Jean du Gard. The Grotte des Desmoiselles near Ganges was amazing. Les Baux de Provence was well worth a visit both for the chateau and the Carrieres et Lumieres art installation just a short distanace away took our breath away. This was our second year at Sommieres and we still haven't seen all the interesting places.

Very good area to visit as it provides a varied number of visits and activities as well as the excuse to do nothing at all!,

I loved this region, a great mixture of spanish and french. Lovely beaches with golden sand and lots of history in the area with Perpignon and Carcassone not very far away.

Some of the coastal towns and villages look a little like Blackpool with scruffy streets, tacky shops and fast food outlets. The whole area is geared to spending all day on a beach and little else seems to matter. It contrasts sharply with the more sophisticated parts of France like the Dordorgne.
