Difficult to review as we did so little sightseeing. Carcassone is a must to visit. Beaches are lovely

We love this area. It is beautiful with stunning scenery. Lots of little towns and villages to visit and explore if you have a car but you could also use the euro bus to get around. There are some lovely beaches and although they are stony or have coarse sand the children weren't put off and the sea is warm and inviting. Easy to drive to Spain from here. We have done a day trip to Bracelona and have followed the coast road and crossed over the border to visit some little villages.

A lovely area with lots to do. We didn't have a car but it was easy to get around on foot and there were plenty of other options for transport. The backdrop of the Pyrenees makes this pretty and the sea was really blue and clean.

There are undoubtedly some beautiful towns in this region and the weather makes it a safe bet for a warm seaside break. It was very busy with lots of tourists which made parking difficult in some of the more popular locations. The proximity to Spain offers an opportunity to visit and sample the culture there with very little hassle and a beautiful coastal drive.

Nice region with good food, lovely beach and eqaully lovely opportunities for various sports and hiking in the area. River cayaking or canoeing at the Herault Gorges - it's thrilling but achievable for most people, including older children, and makes a good day out - waddling and sitting at the river bar table in water makes an unforgettable experience and so does seeing the Cave of the Fairies- La Grotte des Demouselles - underground cathedral of stalactides and stalagmites.
