City break to Rome is a must. We will come back to explore the rest of the region.

Italy is just brilliant there is nothing about the country that we can fault. We have been with young families, just as a couple, with aged parents and always we have been made to feel welcome and valued.

Sightseeing. The proximity to the major cities and access via public transport is a big plus.
Located in a forest of giant pine trees provided a quiet restful location with the bonus of a large pool and sunbathing area.

Tuscany ---- very picturesque, especially the many mountain villages which were accessible. Word of advice - if visiting Florence, going by train or coach is probably the better option. trying to find the recommended best parking site at the Central Station was a nightmare, even for a very experienced and intrepid driver !!

Rome was superb - way beyond my expectation for sights, interest, friendliness, art, history ...... Herculaneum well worth a visit (we didn't get to Pompeii). The Amalfi coast was beautiful and worth a day or 2 trip away. Skip Sorrento unless you stay in one of the posh cliff top hotels with a view of Naples.
Driving in Rome was challenging but fun. From Naples southwards it was significantly more manic -eg traffic lights not working, narrow & winding roads - even on the motorway. Don't drive unless you feel confident, are tolerant and are prepared to adapt.

It was a long drive but worth the cost and effort. Great to experience the real Tuscana and enjoy the scenery. As expected all the tourist hot spots were busy and vibrant. The day temperature never dipped below 25 C: The evenings brought the mosquitos out.....go prepared.
