Lake Garda is beautiful.the sunsets are amazing. We didn't hire a car, we went by bus to Simione & another day by ferry to Bardalino. Bus is definitely cheaper but the ferry was a lovely trip on a sunny calm day, though €40.20 return for 4 of us. We have no regrets not hiring a car as we had a relaxing holiday, feel we really know the campsite well. We took the train to venice which was enjoyable & taxi/ bus to gardaland. I rate it 8.5 simply because we went in high season & it was very busy

Lake Garda is the best location I have ever been to on holiday. The scenery is breathtaking and the villages and town are like something from a film set. Truely amazing.

The Italian lakes is an interesting area to visit with many small towns and interesting sites. There are plenty of good weather activities but it becomes more challenging to occupy a family in bad weather. The lake is expensive and slow to travel around by boat and the boat service itself is limited. Car travel around the lake is also a slow process and the area is vey busy and congested.

The beautiful views. There are lots of things to do. Food and drink is great and pizza is great value. Very good location for day trips to Venice, Verona and we even did Florence. Bardolina wine trail worth a look. Monto Baldo cable car is very good. Sirmione is a very pretty little area too.
