Lots to do and see. Not so much souvenir hunting unless you head to Luxembourg city.

St Albans
There's lots to see and do. Larochette itself was a pleasant surprise, with it's castle and pretty town. Luxembourg City is easy to walk around and straightforward to get to. And the countryside offers up plenty of walking, hiking and nature.

We did not stay long enough to experience the above as just a stop over on way to and from Germany. We did eat in the restaurant and the staff were fantastic and food was good and well priced.

Never considered Luxembourg before but definitely go again. Cheap rail fares. Catch the train from Mersch, free parking at station, €4. 60 return to anywhere in Luxembourg or we recommend Trier in Germany €9.60 return. Luxembourg City has many old building as well as defensive forts spaced around the city. Go you will not be disappointed.

We love Luxembourg and try to visit every year. It is a well ordered and well maintained country. There are lots of beautiful scenery and walks to enjoy, particularly around Larochette/Mullertal. People are friendly and helpful. Shopping is good, with notably low taxes on petrol and spirits and wines.
