We have choosen a handful of parcs from our program that we believe offer a wealth of culture in the surrounding areas. While staying at these parcs you could explore the local traditions, historical highlights, festivals and gastronomic specialities of each region.



Chateau des Ormes, Dol de Bretagne, Brittany

Chateau des Ormes is located in the countryside of Ile et Vilaine, providing an opportunity to explore nearby chateaux gardens, half-timbered medieval towns such as Dinan and St.Malo and the magnificent Mont St.Michel, the WWII cemeteries and the stunning coastline. Visit the fishing festival in Binic or see some of the open-air evening shows in Rennes, during its 'Tombée de la Nuit' festival.


Cultural Breaks in Brittany

Les Biches, St Hilaire de Riez, Vendee

Les Biches is the perfect setting to learn more about the Vendée's traditions and culture. Gastronomic specialities include pan-cooked samphire and the flavoursome 'bonnottes' potatoes, with a hint of hazelnuts, or the Vendée Atlantic oyster with its fresh taste of the sea. For history lovers, the Vendée is linked to the French Revolution, Richard the Lionheart, and Napoleon, with museums such as the Ecomuseum at Puy-de-Fou and the Museum of Art and History at Cholet dedicated to its historical past.

Les Grottes de Roffy, Sarlat, Dordogne

Les Grottes de Roffy is perfect for discovering the Dordogne region, a treasure-trove of prehistoric caves and sites dating from 450,000 to 10,000 BC. Its architecture, including Gallo-Roman, Romanesque and Renaissance illustrate how all periods have left their mark on this historic centre. Cèpe mushrooms, Perigord Cabécou (goat's cheese), crayfish and truffled foie gras are some of the gastronomic specialities of this region.
