Events:

Bayeux mostly famous for its magnificent tapestry, but it is also well know for its great festival. The Bayeux Medieval Festival, which has been running for 18 years and is held over two days at the beginning of every July, provides a colourful and compelling insight into life during the Middle Ages. Jesters, knights on horseback, and damsels roam the cobbled streets of town. Everywhere is transformed to give an  authentic feel. In Place du Gaulle an entire medieval village is reconstructed. The  festival is great fun for visitors and is well worth taking a trip into Bayeux to get a feel for how life was at this time.

Deauville For ten days in early September, Deauville is host to a Film Festival that organisers hoped would rival Cannes and now in its tenth year it is gaining more and more interest from Hollywood. The main difference between here and Cannes being that there is public admittance to the vast majority of previews in Deauville.

Trouville  On the last weekend of every July the town pays homage to its fisherman  with a sea festival known locally as the Fête de la Mer et du Maquereau.

Caen  One of Normandy's top sailing events, the Figaro Regatta. Over the course of nine days they are cover an amazing 1476 miles, during which time their navigation and strategic skills are tested. Thousands of visitors turn up to see this special event, and to make sure everyone is kept entertained there is a funfair and also fireworks.
