Eurocamp has hired a new consultant over the summer holidays to advise on fun games and activities to play outdoors, across the company’s parcs.

Abbi Beckett aged 12, will take up the newly created Head of Play post and will be an exciting new addition to its board of directors.

She will be responsible for trialling and implementing any new activities and games on Eurocamp parcs, and campaigning for big kids as well as little kids to play outdoors more.

Eurocamp head of sales and marketing Ruth Start said: "As a family holiday provider, it is important we inject fun into every element of our holidays.  Adults recognise the value of playing outdoors, but who better than a child to help us ensure we are getting it right for all the children on our holiday parcs."

"Children are experts in play and are very creative when it comes to new ideas.  Abbi will trial new concepts with her friends which we can then roll out across our parcs.

Playing outdoors provides children with the ideal opportunity to develop social skills and foster their imagination - it also has health, educational and learning benefits.

Abbi said: “I am really excited about my new position and am looking forward to the challenge. My friends and I have lots of ideas and we know what other children like, so we can advise the grown ups how to play properly.”

Eurocamp won the Kids Superbrand award in 2006
