Catalonia accounts for some 90% of Spain’s Cava production, so if you want to discover the secret of Spain’s delicious answer to Champagne, there are plenty of places to find it here. The famous house of Freixenet is a popular tasting destination, as is the little town of San Sadurni de Noya, where the original Cava caves can be found.

Cabo de Roca in Portugal is officially the westernmost point in Europe, making it a popular spot just for those who love to say ‘I’ve been there.’ It also enjoys a quite spectacular location within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, an area of quite remarkable beauty, yet still within 25km of Lisbon.
