In the heart of the Côte de Lumière, Le Château d’Olonne is next to the lively resort of Les Sables d’Olonne, one of France’s most stylish seaside towns. There is much to see here: the Ile de Penotte, a picturesque old quarter in the town centre with pedestrian alleys and façades decorated with shells by a local artist, not to mention the La Chaume quarter, where the city originated, the fishermen’s district, with the Place Sainte Anne and its magnificent trompe l’œil fresco. And don’t miss the delicious food market or fishing port where you can find fish at its freshest. The historical theme park, Le Grand Parc du Puy du Fou is also just 92km away. Located in the Vendée, a region famous for its long sandy beaches, close to Les Sables d’Olonne, Residence L’Estran is a hotel and residence located between the Puits d’Enfer, a deep cleft in the cliff into which the sea comes crashing at high tide, and the town centre. The swimming pool faces the sea and the sandy beaches are just 2km away. There are many activities available locally too such as golf and watersports. Something for everyone.
