Introduction

Eurocamp is a trading name of Greenbank Holidays Ltd, part of the Homair Vacances group.

Greenbank Holidays Ltd. is the “data controller” of your information under UK privacy laws. This policy was updated on the 28th December 2016 as part of our response to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requirements scheduled for implementation in May 2018.

Eurocamp is committed to ensuring that the privacy of your personal information is protected at all times. This privacy policy explains how we collect information about you, how we use the information we collect and how you can instruct us, if you prefer to limit the use of your information and procedures that we have in place to safeguard the privacy of your information.

By using our services (including booking a holiday, registering on our websites or downloading any of our apps) you acknowledge that we can collect and use your information as described in this Policy. Protecting your privacy is extremely important to us and we aim to be as clear as possible about how your Information is used. If you have any questions about this, or wish to withdraw your consent at any time, contact us using the details at the bottom of this section.

Some of the ways we use your Information are necessary for us to provide our services to you, and others will only be used with your consent. When Changes are made

If we change our Privacy Policy and/or any procedures that involve the information that you have provided to us, we will post those changes on our websites. This will ensure you are aware of current data collection methods, uses for that data as well as under what circumstances we may disclose it. Your continued use of our services (including our websites and apps) after this Privacy Policy has been amended shall be deemed to be your continued acceptance of the terms and conditions of this Policy, as amended. Users of our Services

Our online bookings service and the online functions of our websites are only intended for users aged 13 years and over, so please do not use them if you are under 13 years old. As part of the booking process, we will ask for the age and/or date of birth of any persons under 18 years of age within the party. This information is collected so that we can ensure that access to age restricted services (i.e. kids’ clubs) are appropriately adhered to. This data is not used for any other purpose.

By using our websites (which includes our mobile site and any apps) and by providing us with your Information, you acknowledge that we may collect and use your Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Where you submit information (including information containing personal data) to us through our websites by downloading and using one of our apps, or when you contact us, you confirm that, where you are providing details on behalf of someone else you have permission to do so and that you have read, and agree to, the terms of our Privacy Policy.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

We collect information from you:

  • When you navigate the website, search for, price up and book a holiday and other related products and services from us;
  • If you subscribe to our email, newsletter or brochure schemes
  • If you download one of our apps or interact with our Social Media pages (e.g. Twitter or Facebook)
  • If you contact our customer services or sales team; or
  • You respond to a survey or enter a competition (whether via our websites, an app or through Social Media)

We use the information you provide us

  • To provide a high quality service to you;
  • To improve our services for you and to tailor our products and services to your requirements;
  • To get to know our customers better as well as the type of customer that uses our services including using third party data matching agencies or data profiling to help us identify similar customers to you
  • To identify appropriate partners whose offers we might obtain for you as a Eurocamp customer; and
  • To contact you about Eurocamp products and services we think you might be interested in, including those of our partners whose offers we have identified

We may collect more or less Information from you depending on which source we collect it from and which services you are using. We also passively collect details through cookies, log files and other similar technologies. General Bookings, Purchases and Payments


Information we collect from you

If you wish to book a holiday using our websites or otherwise, we will need to know some details about you such as your name, email address, telephone number (mobile or landline) and payment card details. If you contact us or have an enquiry we will keep a record of this which may include some of your Information depending on how you contacted us.

How we use this Information

We use this Information to allow us, our agents and sub-contractors who are working on our behalf, to process and fulfil your booking and to send you service related emails and text messages for your booking. We will also use these details to send you a follow-up email after your holiday, to check that you were satisfied with your holiday.

Unless you prefer us not to (by choosing to opt out of all marketing communications) we will also use this Information to provide marketing communications to you (including showing you adverts on social media, e.g. Facebook).

Payments

If you choose to pay for your bookings on our websites by credit or debit card those payments will be processed by our payment provider rather than Eurocamp. Eurocamp work with a reputable third party payment gateway, Sage Pay. Sage Pay uses Internet standard encryption technology, Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which encodes your credit card details and booking confirmation information before it is sent. Furthermore, as required by the UK Data Protection Acts of 1984 and 1998 and Privacy and Electronic Communications (EU Directive) Regulations 2003, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access to your information.

When you make a payment by Paypal or similar payment solution, by clicking on the proceed to payment button, you understand and agree that: (i) you will be leaving the Eurocamp website and will be transferring to the Paypal website  (ii) any personal data you enter on the Paypal website shall be subject to Paypal’s privacy policy  (iii) your personal data may be processed and stored by Paypal outside of the European Economic Area and (iii) Paypal shall be responsible for all processing of your personal data from the Paypal (or similar) website.

My Eurocamp


Information we may collect from you

When you book a holiday, you will automatically be registered to the My Eurocamp service. As part of this process, we need your name, e-mail address and we may ask you for other Information such as your date of birth, for example to update your personal details or to make further purchases online. Your name and booking reference are required to securely log in to My Eurocamp.

How we use this Information

We use your Information for the same purposes as those identified above.

We also use this Information to allow us, our agents and sub-contractors who are working on our behalf to provide you with this service including facilitating your use of our My Eurocamp service. This Information is also used to identify you when you visit our websites including to assist with logging in to your account, and to verify that applicable insurance cover has been purchased in the event of a claim.

Collection of information through your use of our websites and apps

As you use our websites or apps, Information may also be passively collected by us through our use of cookies, web beacons, log files and other technologies. This allows us to deliver more helpful information, services, tools and advertisements. Note that if you decline our cookies or ask for notification each time a cookie is being sent, this may affect your ease of use of our websites.

In particular, we may collect:

The Information we store within cookies is encoded and restricted so only we (and our trusted third parties) can access this Information.

Links to External Websites

Our websites may link to a number of external websites, for example Facebook or Google. If you click on one of these links you acknowledge that your access of such websites will be subject to that website's own terms and conditions and Privacy Policy.

Eurocamp has no control over how your Information is used by these websites, where it is stored and, as such, any course of action you have regarding any alleged misuse of such information must be against the owners of the relevant website. You acknowledge that the same information may be provided by you to both that website and Eurocamp, but only when specifically provided to Eurocamp is it subject to this Privacy Policy. How does Eurocamp protect my information?

While the nature of the Internet is such that we cannot guarantee the security of the information you transmit to us via the Internet, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of your information, to prevent unauthorised access or any loss of data. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity from you before we are able to discuss your account details or other queries.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our websites, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone and (where you have chosen a password) to create a strong password that cannot be easily identified.

The Information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your booking, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. Who does Eurocamp share my information with?

We may share your Information in the following circumstances:

  • If you enter a competition on our websites or through our app, we may pass your details on to third parties for the purposes of administering the competition and/or delivering prizes.
  • To other members of our group and to our appointed service providers (such as our agents and sub-contractors) for the purpose of providing the services on our behalf, managing or administering aspects of our websites, or to help us develop new services. We will only transfer your personal information on the understanding that the third party has undertaken to us that they have in place adequate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, will not pass it on to any other party (without our explicit consent and only with valid grounds) and that they will not use your Information for their own business purposes.

  • We may provide aggregate statistics about you and our other customers, bookings, data patterns and related site information to reputable third party vendors, but these statistics will be entirely anonymous and not include any of your Information.

Behavioural Advertising

We believe that advertising is considerably more interesting when it is relevant to you. Therefore, we may customise the advertisements that you see based upon:

  • the Information you voluntarily provide to us;
  • geographic location information (where you have consented for us to do so), which we may determine through your IP address, from your mobile device, or other ways;
  • data we receive from third parties; or
  • your visits to our websites or your use of our services (commonly referred to as "Behavioural Advertising").

Updating, Correcting and Deleting Personal Data or Withdrawing Consent

You are always in complete control of how we use your information. Where you have consented to us using your information for particular purposes as set out in this Privacy Policy (for example asking us to store your payment card details), you can withdraw your consent at any time. Where you ask us to stop marketing communications, please be aware it may take us a few days (but no longer than a month) to ensure our systems are updated.

You are always entitled to see what information is held about you. If you want to find out what Information we hold about you (called a Subject Access Request) or to have any of your Information updated or corrected, please email us at datacontroller@eurocamp.co.uk. There is no charge for single subject access requests, however Eurocamp may make a small charge for multiple copies. Proof of I.D. will be required. All requests will be fulfilled within one month.

The Right to Lodge a Complaint

You are always in control of your data and Eurocamp will always strive to achieve the highest standards in how it collects, used and shares your information. If you feel that Eurocamp has not handled your information as set out in this Privacy Policy and other related statements, you have a right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
