Local Events

With its rich celtic culture, festivals abound here. Festival de la cite des Hortensias at Perros-Guirec, a 2 day International festival in the centre of town, 12th to 14th August; La Fete de la Morue in Binic from 5th to 8th May celebrates local fishing and the Festival des Ramparts in Dinan from 22nd to 23rd July features jousting knights in the heart of this fine medieval city.

Out and about

St Malo is close by, offering a castle, museums, and family favourite Le Grand Aquarium, plus an array of restaurants to choose from. Historical Mont St Michel and medieval Dinan are also within driving distance of the campsite, making for great days out. If you fancy venturing a little further out, why not hop on a boat and visit the nearby islands of Jersey and Guernsey? Further afield at St Martin de Landelles is the L'Ange Michel Park, fun for all the family.

Attractions

Aquarium de St. Malo

Opened in 1996. The aquarium gives a tour of the oceans of the world and their sealife from tropical waters to the Arctic Ocean. One pool (120m2) offers the opportunity to touch the fish. Sail on board a real submarine (Nautibus). Magnificent shark collection, free car parking, picnic area.

Condor Ferries Channel Island Boat Trips

Condor ferry trips to Guernsey and Jersey from St. Malo. Journey takes 1 hr 15 mins to Jersey and 1 hr 50 mins to Guernsey.

Château et Parc Zoologique de La Bourbansais

Zoo and château are set in 100 hectares. The zoo (10 hectares) has 300 animals from 40 species. Mini train, bouncy castle and a maze are some of the many attractions. Falconry exhibitions and feeding shows are popular. Guided tours of the château are available.

Fort la Latte

The most visited castle in Brittany. It is a listed historic building. This castle was built in the 15th century and restored between 1690 and 1715. The towers, drawbridges and dungeon are still in place.

Local Directions

From: Matignon: Take the D786 in the direction of Notre-Dame du Guildo. 1 km after passing through l’Hopital, Chateau de Galinee is sign posted to the right, along rue de Marsanne. Follow this narrow lane for 1km. After turning into the narrow lane keep going straight ahead and the site entrance is situated 300m on the left past a long stone barn. From Notre-Dame du Guildo: Go up the hill to La Croix aux Merles. At the roundabout, carry straight on in the direction of Matignon and St Cast. Follow the D786 for approximately 1 km up a gentle rise. Take care as the next left should be at the crossroads onto rue de Galinee (the site is sign posted from here). Continue for 600 metres until reaching another crossroads. Carry straight on for 300 metres and the campsite is situated on the left past a long stone barn.
