Enjoying a fabulous beachside location, this is an unusual and attractive parc, with plenty to do here.

Le Ranolien, a member of the Yelloh! Village chain, is really quite stunning. Colourful hedges and trees blend into the pink granite boulders of the coastline, which allows for some highly individual pitches, as well as easy access to nearby beaches. There is also a fantastic beauty/wellness spa which has a sauna, steam room and sunbeds, with various massage and beauty treatments available. This is on top of the mini-cinema and magnificent pool complex which features an impressive array of outdoor pools and water-slides, including a 4-lane slide and even a covered, heated pool that’s available throughout the season. The mellow stone Breton farm buildings have also been sympathetically converted to house, a bar, pizzeria and crêperie and you can enjoy late night discos from mid-June to early September.

Local Events

With its rich celtic culture, festivals abound here. Festival de la cite des Hortensias at Perros-Guirec, a 2 day International festival in the centre of town, 12th to 14th August; La Fete de la Morue in Binic from 5th to 8th May celebrates local fishing and the Festival des Ramparts in Dinan from 22nd to 23rd July features jousting knights in the heart of this fine medieval city.

Out and about

A busy weekly market is held in the small town of Ploumanc'h which is in walking distance of the parc. If you'd like to walk a bit further, take a stroll along the old smugglers paths which go for miles along the Pink Granite coastline. Alternatively take a boat trip out to Les Sept Isles, located off the coast of Perros Guirec, the home of seals and 27 different species of birds.

Attractions

Aquarium de St. Malo

Opened in 1996. The aquarium gives a tour of the oceans of the world and their sealife from tropical waters to the Arctic Ocean. One pool (120m2) offers the opportunity to touch the fish. Sail on board a real submarine (Nautibus). Magnificent shark collection, free car parking, picnic area.

Aquarium Marin de Trégastel

The aquarium is located in caves under a mass of enormous rocks. Varieties of fish from Breton waters and tropical seas. Stuffed birds are also exhibited.

Waxwork Museum

Features displays of scenes from Brittany's past including the French Revolution and the Chouan uprising.

Armoripark

Leisure park with indoor and outdoor heated pools. Other activities include pedal boats, summer sleds, mini golf and ball-pit for toddlers. Fast food restaurant, picnic area and a shop.

Oceanopolis

Large aquarium with 3 different sections:- polar, tropical and temperate. With 42 different aquariums and 10000 animals from 1000 species. There are also exhibits films and shows. Shop, restaurant and bar. Free parking, allow 3 hours for a visit.

Local Directions

From Lannion: As you enter Lannion follow signs for Toutes Directions and Autres Directions, following a road with a river on your left-hand side. You will see signs for Perros-Guirec. Follow this road taking you up-hill away from the river. At the top of the hill you arrive at a roundabout with a ‘Géant’ and and a Mcdonald’s on your righthand side. Continue straight ahead until the next roundabout which has an E. Leclerc on your right hand side. Here you will take the 4th exit sign-posted Tregastel. Follow this road to Tregastel for approximately five miles until you arrive in Tregastel, where there is a mini-roundabout with a carpark on your left take the first exit here and follow the road across a bridge (D788 signposted Perros-Guirec) for about 2 miles. Continue straight across at the traffic lights going up hill and Camping Le Ranolien is a further 600 yards on your left.
