Out and about

The scenic port town of Roscoff is just 10 miles away, ideal for shopping and playing on the beach, and Ile de Batz is just a short boat trip away - a perfect spot from which to take in a panoramic view of the coastline. The popular cobbled streets of Morlaix are also close by, set on an estuary, and St Pol de Léon is worth a visit too, for its cathedral and market stalls.

Attractions

Oceanopolis

Large aquarium with 3 different sections - polar, tropical and temperate. With 42 different aquariums and 10000 animals from 1000 species. There are also exhibits, films and shows. Shop, restaurant and bar. Free parking, allow 3 hours for a visit.

Planetarium de Bretagne

The Brittany Planetarium projects 3D pictures of space onto a screen of more than 600 m², creating the feeling that you really are in space!

Aquarium Marin de Trégastel

The aquarium is located in caves under a mass of enormous rocks. Varieties of fish from Breton waters and tropical seas. Stuffed birds are also exhibited.

Waxwork Museum

Features displays of scenes from Brittany's past including the French Revolution and the Chouan uprising.

Amoripark

Leisure park with indoor and outdoor heated pools. Other activities include pedal boats, summer sleds, mini golf and ball-pit for toddlers. Fast food restaurant, picnic area and a shop.

Aquarium de St. Malo

Opened in 1996. The aquarium gives a tour of the oceans of the world and their sealife from tropical waters to the Arctic Ocean. One pool (120m2) offers the opportunity to touch the fish. Sail on board a real submarine (Nautibus). Magnificent shark collection, free car parking, picnic area.

Local Directions

From Roscoff: Turn left out of port, following the road sign posted to Morlaix. At the first roundabout take the second exit sign posted ‘Autres Directions’(D769). At the next roundabout take the exit ‘Autres Directions’(D58). At the next roundabout take the exit sign posted Morlaix/Brest(D58) until you come to another roundabout where you come off at the Morlaix/Carantec exit(D58) and follow the road under a railway bridge. After about two and a half miles cross a bridge and take the next left sign posted Carantec (D173). Continue for about for about a mile and take the road sign posted Carantec plage (C1) past the casino supermarket at the roundabout take the last exit sign posted Camping Les Mouettes. Continue down this road for 600 Meters till the road bends sharply to the right you will turn left here the campsite is sign posted. Camping Les Mouettes is 600 meters down this road on your left, just before the bay.
