Local Events

With its rich celtic culture, festivals abound here. Festival de la cite des Hortensias at Perros-Guirec, a 2 day International festival in the centre of town, 12th to 14th August; La Fete de la Morue in Binic from 5th to 8th May celebrates local fishing and the Festival des Ramparts in Dinan from 22nd to 23rd July features jousting knights in the heart of this fine medieval city."the glénan's archipel : some 9 miles off concarneau, discover Glénan archipelago's white sandy beaches and shallow sea, and let yourself get carried far far away. 8 islands, a dozen of islets, many rocks form a circle around an enclosed sea called "the room".This widely beautiful place with its clear water, no deeper than 6.5 feet at low tide, attracts many yachts. Its most distinguished inhabitant is the Glénans narcissus, which grows on the archipelage and nowhere else. "

Out and about

You're well within easy reach of several sandy beaches, as well as the walled town of Concarneau and the lovely village of Kerascoët. Take a boat trip to the Iles Glénan, or visit the Pont Scorff zoo. Rospico Botanical Gardens are close by, while Parc Animalieur, a unique animal park, is 31km away at Quinquis. Closer to parc, the markets in the town of Nevez are worth a look.

The aquarium has 50 tanks with none resembling its neighbour. Discover some of the curiosities which make the aquarium a 'must see'. There is a gift shop and restaurants. Allow 90 minutes for a visit.

Aquarium d'Audierne

Large aquarium with an excellent variety of fish to view. There is a variety of shows including birds of prey. There is also a shop and a restaurant.

Jardins de Rospico

2000 plant varieties on 4 hectares of land, including hydrangeas & palms. Plants for sale. Inspired by English gardens. 7kms from Pont-Aven & 40 kms from Quimper.

Oceanopolis

Large aquarium with 3 different sections - polar, tropical and temperate. With 42 different aquariums and 10000 animals from 1000 species. There are also exhibits, films and shows. Shop, restaurant and bar. Free parking, allow 3 hours for a visit.

Aquarive

25 metre swimming pool with lift for handicapped persons. Fun pool with water chute and wave machine. Jacuzzi and solarium.

Departmental Breton Museum

The Museum was created in 1846. Important collections concerning archeology, history, ethnography and art of Brittany.

Musée National de la Marine

The Museum presents a beautiful collection of models of ships & memorabilia related to the oceans.

Les Balneides

Indoor heated swimming pool plus outdoor pools with slides and water chutes. One chute is the longest in Brittany at 75 metres long.

Musée du Cidre de Bretagne

This museum is based at a farm which makes Breton cider. All aspects of the cider making process can be seen beginning with the apple orchards through to the finished product. Tastings are available.

Local Directions

From the West: Leave the N165 at the junction for the D24 to 'Pont Aven'. At the top of the slip road turn left following signs to 'Pont Aven'. Follow this road for approx 5 km until you arrive at a mini roundabout just inside the town of 'Pont Aven'. Turn right at this roundabout and follow into the centre of 'Pont Aven' until you come to a T-junction on a small bridge. Turn right here following signs for 'Autres Directions' and 'Nevez' and continue along this road for approx 3km until you come to a roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout following signs for 'Nevez' and continue for approx 5km until you come to the town of Nevez. You will arrive at a roundabout where there is a Renault garage and a Total petrol station on the left-hand side. Go straight across and into the small town of 'Nevez'. At the next small roundabout turn right following signs for 'Raguenez' (Raguenes). Directly in front of you the road splits and you need to take the right hand lane following signs to 'Camping Les Deux Fontaines'. Continue along this road for approx 4 km following the signs to the campsite. These signs will guide you to a left turn and then left again down the hill into the campsite.
