Parc reviews

Parc highlights

  • The restaurant here may be small but is certainly worth a visit - or two...

  • Eurocamp Active - walking notes & free guided walks in May, June & September

  • Explore the local area using one of our walking guides

Think of the Dordogne and, chances are, you’ll picture yourself browsing bric-a-brac stores in some mellow-stone village, or lazing the day away alongside a riverbank. Plump for a holiday in Les Grottes de Roffy and you can put yourself in the picture.

This small and friendly parc is perfectly positioned for exploring the beautiful Périgord region - with its cobbled medieval towns, chateaux and meandering rivers. But the parc itself puts up a bit of a fight for your attention too - its four pools combine to create an eye-catching centrepiece, and we’re constantly hearing great things about the parc’s restaurant, too. You’ll find this area of the parc particularly lively in high season, when some noise can be heard from the bar.

    Walking

    cs_walking_head_title

The Dordogne is famous for its castles, caves, châteaux and medieval villages, with beautiful panoramic views and deep cut river valleys all around you. This rich landscape is also dotted with historic farms, natural woodlands, forests, walnut groves and traditional villages of honey-coloured stone. In spring, the fields are full of poppies and wild flowers, not to mention the warblers who have just returned from their winter migration to warmer climes. In spring and summer, a host of multi-coloured butterflies waft across every path, and you may also spot dragonflies and kingfishers along the river edges, making this a truly wonderful walking destination.
