Parc Highlights

  • The parc offers wide open spaces and wonderful views

  • Facilities are excellent, with lots to do on-parc and nearby

  • You can also enjoy a wide range of places to eat here

With its lovely architecture and rural location, this lively parc has a deserved reputation for high standards.

St. Avit Loisirs is one of the premier parcs in a region where standards are already high, in fact it has the prestigious 5 red tents in the Michelin guide and is the first French campsite to obtain the internationally recognised ISO9000 award for quality. Its crowning glories are the beautiful, golden stone-built Périgordin buildings which house the reception, shop, bar and traditional ‘auberge’, with its choice of delicious regional specialities. There is also an indoor tropical-style swimming pool, a new kids' pool with water games and even a ‘lazy river’. There is also a bar terrace overlooking the outdoor pool complex, which is the scene for a full programme of entertainment including disco and karaoke nights. Surrounded by verdant woodland, this Castel parc is mainly shaded and extremely spacious, with lovely views across the countryside and the added bonus of luxury tent pitches arranged along the edge.

Pre-bookable zoned accommodation is available to book on this parc. For more information on zone locations please view the sitemap above.

Customer tips

Local recommendations and tips our customers have shared with us following their holiday at St Avit Loisirs.

"The Lascaux caves were very good, however you do need to purchase the tickets in the town of Montignac and it's not always possible to get them for that day. The canoeing trip we booked on site was very good and we took a picnic with us, although there were plenty of places we could have stopped to buy food. The town of Bergerac is definitely worth a visit."
A. Harrison, Isle of Man

"We visited Sarlat and loved it. Beynac was very scenic and the boat trip is well worth it if you don't fancy canoeing. At Domme you get stunning views across the Dordogne valley, and the cave at Le Bugue is worth a visit too."
P. Coates, Lincoln

"We enjoyed the nearby caves, but loved the market in Le Bugue - the best French market we've ever been to. You must get there early though before the traffic builds up!"
A. Carr, Wiltshire

"We loved the following places: Limeuil, Castelnaud, Cadouin, Sarlat, Chateau de Puymartin. Highly recommend lemon macaroons from Sarlat market - delicious!"
C. Walmsley, Surrey

"We just loved kayaking down the Dordogne river and visiting all of the bastide towns - especially Beynac."
J. Griffiths, Kincardineshire

"Sarlat and La Roque Gageac were the most interesting places we visited. Highly recommend canoe trips on the Dordogne river as organised through the campsite but if a member of your party is not actually travelling in a canoe they need to be aware that place you leave the car and get on a bus isn't near to any town or village. The Indian climbing forest at Perigord is recommended for all the family (from 5 years old and up)."
R. Moore, Co. Antrim

"Castelnaud is a definite must-visit - great history and restoration of a castle. The Aquarium du Perigord Noir is well worth a visit especially if you like crazy golf, there is an excellent 18 hole crazy golf park next door. You can buy a combined ticket for both. Sarlat is a beautiful Medieval town and is another must-visit. Canoe down the Dordogne River, or if you don't fancy that go to Roque Gageac and take a trip on the Gabare boats - brilliant!"
B. O'Rourke, Dublin

"Sarlat is superb with a tremendous street market on Saturdays. Numerous quality restaurants make eating out a delight. The whole of the Dordogne valley is brilliant with too many attractions to mention here!"
R. Caller, West Sussex
