Parc reviews

Parc highlights

  • 750 metres from the beach

  • Explore authentic French villages that surround the parc

  • Whizz through more than 60 miles of cycle tracks

Looking for your slice of island life, with bundles of wonderful towns and villages to explore close by? Then Camping Les Ilates is the parc for you.

On this simple and authentically French parc, you can enjoy a swimming pool, kids’ play area, games room, bar, snack bar/restaurant and a small shop. But it’s the areas off parc that you’ll want to get out and explore. This area of France is famous for its oysters and potatoes and there are many restaurants scattered through the island’s villages where you can enjoy authentic dishes. For the more energetic, the waters of Ile de Ré are great for water sports enthusiasts who can enjoy windsurfing, sailing and yachting. Why not leave the car at the parc and hire yourself a bike from the local village?

Enjoyed our visit to this site. The reason we couldn't give it 10 was the lack on bread in the morning . This is an important part of a French holiday

We had a lovely time. We cycled everywhere. It really is an island made for cycling. The weather was great.

To fare from the beach (a beach got sand on it not rocks and smelly sea weed) If you ride a bicycle your ok. A walk to the centre of the village is a long walk .As we are over 60 its not a Holiday for me and my wife

Glad to see improvements based on my recommendations from last year!

I am going back for the fourth time next year and that says it all really.

If (like me) your idea of a nice holiday is to wake up in tranquil surroundings, cycle a mile into the village, stock up on fresh bread, fish and groceries for the day. Then later in the day head out on the bikes and explore the locale via the vast array of cycle networks, then this park is for you. However if you would feel more comfortable on a park where you only hear English being spoken and fast food always being served then please don't come here (please!)

What a beautiful island, we took our own bikes as to hire them was very expensive, and was well worth it as you can ride all over the island, bikes take prioity so very safe for the kids. Tolls were expensive - we totted up £102 in tolls for the whole two weeks, you have to follow the motorways and the causeway across to the island was a toll but only to get on the island, not off. The campsite itself was a big let down, very small and not a lot going on, although John and Esther were lovely people and very knowledgable. The pools were nice, the restaurant was very basic and not very nice, hundreds of flies. The entertainment for english was NONE, they had discos which were for the french, they started at around 10.00pm when you were just trying to get to sleep. We took two teenage children and there was nothing for them to do on the site other than the pool. During the evening you need to leave the site and visit other places but everyone else does that so the island becomes very busy at evening meal times. I am glad that we went, as i say the island was beautiful and if you just want a quiet holiday then this place is ideal.
