With the beaches of Biarritz and the walking of the Pyrénées to discover, this is always a popular choice.

As well as its fantastic location, this parc offers a wide range of facilities, making it popular with young and old alike. Here you can play tennis, enjoy the attractive outdoor pools and waterslide or try the indoor pool across the road in the newer part of the parc, where there is a recently added spa and balneo complex. There’s also a gym, sunbed, sauna and a spacious children’s play area. With its hillside location overlooking a small lake, it also offers exceptional views of the Pyrénées. There are many reasons to stray from the parc too. The famous beaches, bodyboarding, surfing, shopping and restaurants of wonderful Biarritz are just 8km away; with Bidart and Bayonne right on your doorstep, and Spain and the Pyrénées also within easy reach.

Local Events

The spectacular Tour d'ile de Re Yacht Festival is held on 7th May; the Bordeaux Fete de Vin, a celebration of the region's most famous export runs from 1st to 4th July; Francofolies celebrates French music ans song at La Rochelle between 12th and 17th July, and the weekly Summer Music Festival is held at Pauillac from 22nd July to 26th August.

Out and about

This modern, yet historical seaside resort is popular with all ages due to its gorgeous sandy beaches, selection of shops, bars, restaurants and museums, and its Edwardian elegance. The popular town of Ciboure is also rich with history and is great for water sports activities. Take a trip to La Rhune, from where you can take the funicular train into the Pyrénées. There's also St Jean de Luz, a pretty fishing port located just 10 miles from the Spanish border.

Le Petit Train de la Rhune

This is an old funicular railway of 3 cars that takes tourists 900 metres to the top of La Rhune. On clear days there are magnificent views of the area and of the Pyrénées. A return trip takes approximately 2 hours although it is possible to walk either up or down. There is a small restaurant at the arrival and departure points

Local Directions

From Bordeaux follow the motorway around the east Side of the city and take the A63 in the direction of ‘Arcachon/Bayonne/San Sebastian’. Follow the A63/N10 as far as the ‘Biarritz/Airport’ exit (junction 4). After the tollbooth take the far-left turning at the roundabout onto the N10 following signs for Bidart and St-Jean-de-Luz. You will pass an ‘Intermarché’ you will come to a roundabout turn left for Ruisseau. Follow this road and take the first road on the left. Follow this road to the bottom, turn left at the junction, going over the bridge over the motorway and as the road sweeps left, the campsite entrance is on the right-hand side up a short, steep hill.
