Parc highlights

  • Enjoy a stunning location on the banks of Lac de Chalain

  • Close to the magnificent Herisson waterfalls

  • Eurocamp Active - walking notes and downloadable routes available

Sitting on the fringes of Lac de Chalain, La Pergola is the ideal place to indulge in awesome views or explore the local area with a spot of cycling or horse-riding.

It’s not just the location that sets this authentically French parc apart, as the well-manicured grounds of this steeply-terraced site also helped to earn La Pergola the prestigious La Clef Verte award. Beyond the natural beauty, you’ll find a superb pool complex, including a small, toddler-friendly one, surrounded by a solarium where you can relax in the sun after a dip and a splash. Alongside great facilities, you can also expect to enjoy a friendly atmosphere and a tasty evening meal at the parc’s popular self service restaurant.

    Walking

    cs_walking_head_title

Jura is a land of lakes, waterfalls, mountains, thick forests and deep gorges with towering limestone cliffs. In fact, this area gave the word 'Jurassic' to the world. It is also home to the famous wine region of 'Côtes du Jura', where the oldest lineages of grapes in France are grown and local recipes have been handed down even from Roman times. From May to September you will hear warblers such as Chiff Chaffs and Black Caps, and see Chaffinches and Redstarts. Small brown lizards dart across the footpaths, and blue and green dragonflies can be seen by the water’s edge. Jura offers a wealth of natural wonders and a plethora of walking opportunities.

We really enjoyed our stay at this picturesque campsite. Great access to the lake and great facilities. Easy to drive to and from the UK in a day, and the Jura region is beautiful. I'm sure we will visit this site again.

A Parc that grew on us as the holiday progressed. Having been surprised at how cramped the pitches were, we began to appreciate the location even if the kids could not play there. The appearance of the parc is fantastic, however the food was, although reasonable, very expensive for what it was. The parc is kept in a very good condition, always clean, with great facilities and helpful local parc staff. It does give the feel onsite that the French accommodation has taken all of the best pitches and that the Eurocamp ones have been squashed in as close as they could.

The holiday was brilliant for our whole family, plenty of space in the accommodation, great kids club, having swimming pools and the lake meant you always had a choice and it never felt crowded. We didn't eat at the onsite restaurant but used the snack kiosk and the shop and both were good. Larger supermarkets in champagnole meant we could keep costs down and try local restaurants as well. Really enjoyed ourselves, both our kids asked if we could come back next year and we may well do that!

The accommodation we stayed in had a few issues. Some of these were dealt with but the others were due to the age of the accommodation and the fact that it was too close to trees and the weather was wet for a few days of our holiday.

Generally holiday very enjoyable but did not like camp as much as others have stayed at before or the one used in Calais to break our journey.

First thing I saw after the rep left was a sock. Then had a look round and saw it was dirty under the beds and one or 2 shelves had some muck on them. Not sure about the blankets being cleaned between holiday makers as they are not wrapped but had a dog hair on one of them. It was cold in the night.
I told the rep next time I saw one but he just shrugged his shoulders. I was quicker for me to clean it then I know its been done than it was to walk back to the reps hut.
We left after the 3rd night as we would much rather be in our own bed.
