Explore one of France’s oldest towns, Cap d’Agde, and you’ll find yourself drawn towards the resort’s 14km of beautiful fine sandy beaches, hunkered beneath its rocky cliffs (where the more acrobatic of visitors launch themselves into the turquoise waters below).
Cap d’Agde is an ideal starting point for exploring this region’s rich cultural heritage, including its outstanding archaeological remains; at the heart of the town is the impressive fortified Romanesque cathedral built of volcanic basalt, hewn from the headland. This lively resort is just 50m from the seafront and enjoys a private swimming pool, too. If you fancy exploring on two wheels, you’re in luck. Networks of cycle routes run past the resort, providing the perfect way to explore the coastline, and find your spot in the sun.
