Parc Highlights

  • Ideal for children, with great pools and ponies on parc

  • An attractive parc with lots of wide open spaces

  • Close to the restaurants and bars of Saumur

The wonderfully green and open grounds make this is a wonderful place in which to enjoy the great outdoors.

The first thing that will strike you about this superb parc is the wonderful space and openness of the grounds. There are simply acres and acres for you to relax in and for the children to explore. The facilities are excellent too, including an impressive pool complex with waterslides and a separate pool for youngsters, not to mention the superb play area. The family proprietors are your hosts in the attractive bar and restaurant, and their personal approach is much in evidence throughout. The location is ideal for exploring, with l’Etang de la Brèche nearby as well as many outstanding châteaux also within easy reach. While you’re here we would particularly recommend visits to mighty Chinon and the very beautiful Azay-le-Rideau.

    Customer tips

Local recommendations and tips our customers have shared with us following their holiday at L'Etang de la Breche.

"The children loved Sleeping Beauty's castle, Château d'Ussé."
    S. Newton, Northamptonshire

"The Abbaye de Fontevraud is worth a visit, as is the small Château de Rivau where there is a fairy trail which leads you around the garden, plus a music room where you're encouraged to play the instruments and make a noise. The Château at Chinon is also worth visiting, as well as a trip to Angers where you can explore the town on a little train and then visit the château which has a good little children's trail."
    G. Roberts, Avon

"The Gratien & Meyer tour is good, especially for poor weather activity. Saumur is worth visiting and the view from the château is stunning. There's a good, large market on a Saturday and parking by the river is free and convenient to get about the town."
    M. Simpson, Lancashire

"Château Villandry was the highlight of our holiday."
    J. Mitchell, Nottinghamshire

"The château at Saumur was very picturesque despite undergoing some major renovation work. Caves are all worthy of a visit, especially Champignon and the adjoining limestone carvings which was particularly welcoming for children with interaction."
    S. Evans, Clwyd
