Attractions

The resort: Explore the world of a small fishing port: the auction, signal station, trawlers, infrastructures, activities and Shipwreck Museum. 5 guided tours are on offer: ‘in the heart of the Port en Bessin’, ‘the fish auction’, ‘from auctioneer to computer’, ‘visiting the foreshore’ (depending on the tides) and ‘at the shipyard’. A trail with 8 markers takes you on a self-guided walking tour of the harbour and its history, infrastructures and activities. The surrounding area: Bayeux (8km), medieval town: the tapestry (a masterpiece unique in the world), Notre Dame cathedral, Baron Gérard Museum (porcelain, lace and paintings) and General de Gaulle Memorial. Isigny sur Mer (33km): Tour the facilities of the Isigny Dairy Cooperative, which produces local cheeses. Caen (35 km): The Abbaye aux Hommes and the Abbaye aux Dames founded by William the Conquerer, the Fine Arts Museum and the Normandy Museum, the Caen Memorial, etc. D-Day and the Battle of Normandy: the D-Day Museum in Arromanches, Omaha Beach memorial museum in Saint Laurent sur Mer, American cemetery in Colleville sur mer, etc. Excursions and boat rides to explore the D-Day beaches: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword Beach.
