Parc reviews

Parc highlights

  • Dip into 2 impressive Californian-style pool complexes

  • Aqualand is only 5 km away (that’ll keep the teenagers happy)

  • Try your hand at sports like football, volleyball and tennis

If you’re looking for a lively parc on the French Riviera, complete with wish-list facilities, chances are, La Baume is for you.

The parc offers a magnificent pool complex with a four-lane slide, plus a separate lagoon pool with slides, a covered pool on two levels, Jacuzzi and a toddler pool. You can enjoy activities from archery to tennis, with cycle hire also available, before winding down at one of two bars, a restaurant, or make the most of the takeaway on-parc. There are some lovely beaches nearby, and in the evening you can choose between live entertainment and the parc’s own disco. When it’s time to head back to your accommodation, it’s likely you’ll be on one of our shady pitches, that comes with low-level decking, so it’s safe for the little ones. Just to let you know, you might also hear some road noise on-parc.

      Eurocamp toddler holidays

Arrive at La Baume and prepare to be wowed by the palm tree setting and chances for splash-tastic fun. The parc is set on the edge of the lush and leafy Esterel forest, with 2 terrific tropical pool complexes at its heart. It’s no wonder then, that this is one of the most popular family parcs on the French Riviera.

Sit back and relax amongst your shady pine trees setting – perfect for keeping little eurocampers safe from the Mediterranean sun, too. Or if you prefer to unwind on the beach, you’ll find Fréjus beach just 5 km away, where soft sands will keep the young ones occupied with some bucket and spade action.

When it’s time to go exploring, you’ll find bike hire on parc (including kids’ bikes and free child seats), allowing you to discover coastal trails and pretty natural inlets for yourself. Or if you’ve got budding movie buffs in the family, take a trip to Cannes or glitzy St Tropez for the day.

      • Let the kids loose at two playgrounds

      • Hire bikes to explore the local area

Whilst the weather was superb the site was a let down. It is a large site but lacked amenities. It has the basics but apart from a decent pool area the rest of the site only offered basic amenities.
The accommodation was standard and well appointed but the location was an issue at night being only about 20 metres from a motorway. The continuous traffic noise at night was an issue.
The Eurocamp couriers were on the whole professional and courteous. However it would have been nice to have been escorted to my accommodation on arrival and there was no free gift as advised.
Apart from the above I feel that the holiday was value for money which the weather helped tremendously.

The beginning of our holiday was somewhat spoiled due to late arrival of our train. This meant we incurred additional costs due to taxi hire and rearranged car hire plans. The Eurocamp staff were absolutely brilliant in assisting us with both our later than scheduled arrival and in sorting out our car hire arrangements. I don't know how we would have managed without them - it would have been very difficult. As for the actual campsite, we thought it suited us better by being the end of season and not being busy. I don't think we would have liked it so much had the place been heaving, it is such a vast site. Our accommodation, an Horizon 3 bed mobile home, was perfect for just the three of us, allowing us plenty of space. I would think the same accommodation shared by 6 people would be rather cramped. On the whole we had a good holiday and it wouldn't have turned out quite so well had the Eurocamp couriers not done their bit to help

My only disappointment was the on site shop was getting ready to close( we went 17/09/13 for a week) this made it difficult to buy much without going off site which was a trek without a car. Otherwise it was an amazing place and would defo go back

La Baume is in a good location but you do need transport to get to the town, beach or marina. The park has good facilities which are included in the price but it is tired and tatty in places and could do with a refurbishment. The accommodation was good but there was very limited space to park the car and no direct sunshine on the plot we had. The courier (Carolyn?) was extremely helpful and chatty.

we really enjoyed our holiday, we were touring on two motorcycles just like we did in june 2000, so we chose our locations based on them being in the areas we were traveling through. but our choice were reduced due to lots of your camp sites being closed in september. so we had to have 4 nights in hotels to fill in the holes in our trip. being on bikes it was important that we had good facilities on site because to go out to a shop or a restaurant we needed to put on our bike gear to keep us safe again, and after a days travelling this is not always popular with the ladies.
we chose the La Baume site as our 5 night base to explore the french south coast, but we stayed in various locations to get to and from the south.

Our biggest gripe with our holidays was the lack of things being either open or stocked correctly. We appreciate that we paid a reduced price because the holiday was in a cheaper time of year after the school children had returned to school. but we were still expecting the facilities to be open and stocked to a reasonable standard up to them closing.
AL013, La Ravoire- the location of the site was nice, but quite remote. the campsite had a cafe bar during the day, and a restaurant in the evening, but both of these were closed, and it was difficult to even get a fresh coffee made when enjoying the pool area during the day as the staff were busy cleaning down equipment.
And the camp shop had only a few more items than i have in my home cupboards when we need to shop!
the reps on site were great, and very friendly, and even offered to sell us some of their food so we could make a meal. colin was so helpful, that he even picked us up from the lake when we were trying to walk back from annecy and ran out of steam.
local shops/restaurants were over 45 minutes walk away when walking fast.
we were told that the camp site was closing in a couple of weeks so most things were either empty of closed. and reception made a point of showing us the brochure stating this, which we had overlooked when booking. but as there were no alternative in the area, we didn't have a choice.
      RV014, La Baume-
again a nice park, we were here last in 1997, and some things were improved from then, but the site felt more cramped in.
the mobile home was very nice, but they were squashed in so closely together that we could hear our neighbours walking around in the closest 5 homes.
there were a group of polish visitors near us who partied until after midnight a couple of times, and this was disturbing.
we had several problems with our home during our stay, but after a text to our reps they turned up and resolved our problems.
we found it very strange around the pool area because they have security tied the sun lounges together in groups of 5. so this made it very difficult to get four chairs together. as people were in pairs so two either end of a row, and one spare in the middle.
as we were four people staying together we were using toilet block No4 to shower and use the WC. but on for days of our stay some one had removed all the toilet roll holders and toilet roll. so we had to take it with us.
the reps were ok, but with there being so many you never saw the same one twice, so were unable to build a relationship with them.
      MC011, L'Ardechois-
this was a beautiful site, and the safari tents were just fantastic. the rep Brian was also great, he was a great host and very helpful. the site shop was reasonable stocked and the restaurant was open and the staff were very helpful and friendly. and the food was good as well. and we would love to visit it again in the future.
      PA011 International -
This was our final camp site, we stayed here last in 2000, and there have been some improvements, the bar and restaurant areas were nice, but the shower block next to our mobile home was poor and looked tired.
we were using the toilet blocks because our home didn't even have a toilet roll, something we consider to be a basic requirement as a standard nasessorty. and we found this strange when all our other mobile homes had the first one supplied. but then i discovered that the toilet blocks didn't have them either.
the site shop was closed for most of the time during our visit, but it was reasonable stocked.
our mobile home had a terrible smell of curry, and it needed fumigating to remove it.
our double bed was also very lumpy and worn out, and felt as though it needed replacing. the blankets supplied were so thin that we had to sleep in our clothes to keep warm.
the shower hose was of a cheap plastic and was kinked to the point that water barely came through. the shower door threshold was so high that i struggled to step over it to get in.
the shower blocks as mentioned before were ok but the water took an age to get warm to the point we didnt bother in the end. and they were freezing cold being open and the paint was falling off the walls in the gents in the cubicles.
the rep we saw was ok, but being much younger than some of the others we met didnt do anything special to impress us. they didnt even have a biro between them to write messages on, she said everything was written in pencil on their site.
they left a note whilst we were out instructing us to clean the van before we left the next day, and to take our rubbish to the bins, but they didnt supply any bin liners to use, and as we were only there one night and spent all our time exploring Paris we didnt make any mess, and the smell was not ours. so the 6 old tea bags and sugar bags we had used to make a drink at breakfast were wrapped in a bag we had and left in the van.
      i hope this helps?
      regards steve
