Price Includes

Attractions

The resort: Nestling between the sea and the mountains, Menton is a small seaside resort with a very pleasant microclimate. It is an old medieval and baroque town with avenues lined with luxury hotels, exceptional gardens, markets and a casino; Menton is busy around the year. Museums: The Jean Cocteau museum (works of art), the 'Musée des Beaux-Arts' (Fine Arts museum). Gardens: the gardens at Maria Serena Villa (subtropical plants), Carnolès Palace, Val Rahmeh (botanical gardens), Fontana Rosa (a garden with ceramics in the Valencienne style), and the 'Serre de la Madone' with its glasshouse. To be seen: the square of Saint Michel’s basilica which dominates the 'old public port,' the Lottier oil mill... Boat trips at Beaulieu, Monaco and Villefranche. Boat trips at Menton during certain periods. The surrounding area: The Mentonnaise Riviera is made up of six towns including: Castellar (6.50km) affording an incredible view of the sea. Sainte-Agnès: (10km) streets which date back to the middle ages, craftsmen's houses and artists’ studios, the remains of a feudal castle and a Fort on the Maginot line. Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (8km), medieval village. Gorbio (11km), the Château of the Alziari Counts, chapels, a wash house and bread oven. Castillon (13.5 km), traditional and contemporary architecture. From Paris: A6 motorway as far as Lyon, then the A7 'Autoroute du Soleil,' then the A8, 'La Provençale' –take the exit for Menton. Follow the signs for the 'centre-ville' on the Sospel road and continue as far as the Avenue de Verdun and the Casino, then turn right onto Avenue Carnot, then first right again, onto the allée Louis Moreno, where you will find the underground car park.
