Parc Highlights

  • A delightful parc offering a relaxing ambiance

  • On the doorstep of the resort of La Tranche

  • Located next door to a great leisure centre

If you are looking for somewhere small and friendly, you have found it at Bel, which is ideal for families with small children.

Situated in the delightful little town of La Tranche, Bel is a quiet family-run parc which has received particularly high ratings from our customers. While small and relatively quiet, it offers you a lovely swimming pool with a small waterslide as well as a super Scandinavian style play area, all of which makes it especially suited to families with young children. It is also just 500m from the longest south-facing beach in the Vendée, where you can swim and sunbathe, before trying a spot of windsurfing on the ‘marine lake’. And the lovely town of La Tranche is right on the doorstep too, with its floral gardens, and wide choice of cafés and restaurants. A water parc, which is payable, with indoor and outdoor pools is just 300m from the parc.

Pre-bookable zoned accommodation and neighbouring pitches are available to book on this parc. For more information on zone locations please view the sitemap above. Please call our travel advisors to check availability of neighbouring pitches for the 2012 season.

Customer tips

Local recommendations and tips our customers have shared with us following their holiday at Bel.

"The Zoo at les Sables d'Olonne was very good and the town local to the site was excellent for a nice meal with a good selection of bars and restaurants. La Terriere was our favourite of all the beaches."
J. Parry, Mid Glamorgan

"Puy du Fou is well worth a visit. If you get there early you will have enough time to see more or less everything. If you take your own picnic you can eat it before or during a lot of the shows."
G. Maskery, Cheshire

"We really enjoyed cycling in the local area - the best thing we did was cycle across the bridge to Ile de Ré, it was amazing."
B. Scullion, Wiltshire

"Get good food and good service for families, including a children's entertainer, at Le Phare West restaurant found on the main street in the pedestrianised part of the local town."
J. Walker, Northamptonshire

"La Rochelle is a lovely city and I would recommend a visit. Les Sables d'Olonne was also nice and the Zoo there is very good, allowing you to get up close to the animals. St Gilles Croix de Vie is quite a drive but very picturesque to walk with its marina and beach area. It can get very busy! The beach at La Tranche is great and the circus nearby (Sebastian Zavatta) was very good albeit a bit pricey - but it's worth it as you don't get this experience in the UK any more."
M. Purser, Cambridgeshire

"The Indian Forest was great and close to site. The activities here are defined by age but the height of the child is important in order for them to participate, so may not be suitable for younger or smaller children. It's also for quite adventurous types as there are zip wires and the the course is high up off the ground. At La Rochelle the aquarium is worth a visit, especially if the weather is poor."
O. Laird, Co. Armagh

"La Rochelle is great - the old port is lovely to wander around or sit and enjoy a drink on the front. The aquarium is wonderful for both adults and children, just watch out for the sharks! We visited Abbaye de Maillezais and had lunch in the local restaurant, La Grange aux Roseaux where local specialities such as frogs legs and fish are on the menu. We then hired a Barque and rowed around the canals - definitely worth it and a great experience for the kids.

The beach at la Tranche-sur-Mer is excellent for body boarding or just making a sandcastle or flying a kite. The local market on Tuesday and Saturday is worth a wander around, some good bargains to be had. Georges Clemenceau's house and gardens at St Vincent-sur-Jard is good for adults (with knowledge of French language), and there's a lovely beach in this town too."
P. Williams, Mid Glamorgan

"We loved the local beaches and La Terriere. For those who enjoy cycling the area lends itself well. We also had a superb boat trip to Ile d'Aix from La Rochelle."
G. Woollven, Devon

"La Rochelle was beautiful and the seafood restaurant on the sea front in La Tranche is fabulous!"
M. Liney, Derbyshire
