Out and about

If you wish to sample more of Sicily than the town of San Vito Lo Capo, hire a car and visit the nature reserves at either Lo Zingaro or Monte Cofano. Further afield are Segesta with its ancient Greek temple, Trapani with its windmills, great restaurants at Erice and the island of Mozia just off the coast of Marsala. For watersports take a drive to the beach at Citta del Mare, 67km from the parc.

The Nature Reserve of Lo Zingaro is really enchanting with its stark beauty and the intensity of its colours in all seasons. It has eight kilometres of coastline with steep cliffs plunging into the sea from heights of up to three thousand feet, a beautiful turquoise sea and small white coves
