Out and about

The market town of Larochette is close to the parc and is home to the ruins of Larochette Castle, old streets, woodland walks and industry museum. The capital city, Luxembourg City, is an easy drive away and definitely worth a visit for the Petrusse Valley, the public parks, a wide choice of boutiques and high street shops, plus the Grand Ducal Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Neumunster Abbey and Adolphe Bridge. For adventurous fun there's Adventure Island, a high-ropes course, located at Echternach Lake about 20km from the parc.

Local Directions

From Luxembourg: From the Gasperich motorway interchange follow signs for 'Luxembourg'. At the junction with the N4, turn right following signs for 'Gasperich' and 'Luxembourg'. As you travel through Luxembourg, follow signs for 'Echternach' through the suburbs and out of town. You will pass through the village of Junglinster, which is dominated by the Radio Luxembourg transmitter masts, still following signs for 'Echternach'. Turn left onto the CR121 3/4 mile out of the village sign-posted 'Larochette'. After a further 1 1/4 mile turn left again onto the N4 still following signs for 'Larochette'. Pass through the villages of Reuland and Heffingen before arriving in Larochette. Continue through the town centre. At some restaurants and bars you turn left into a road that goes uphill, following signs for 'Mersch' on the N8. After a sweeping left and right turn, Camping Birkelt is sign-posted to the left. Approach this turn slowly as it is tight, sharp and steep. You will find the campsite to the right 500yds further down this road.
