Sightseeing

Twenty minutes from the parc is Aqualandia, considered to be Italy's premier water park and home to the tallest water slide in Europe. Take the boat over to Venice and take in the famous sights. Jesolandia is about 14km away, and there is a free shuttle bus to and from this amusement park from the centre of Jesolo. At Lido di Jesolo enjoy many fine eateries and designer boutiques.

Held at St Mark's Square in Venice on 25th April, watch the gondola regatta and procession to the basilica in honour of Venice's Patron Saint. The finish point of the regatta is next to St. Mark's Pier.

The Vogalonga is a famous rowing race that began in 1975 and takes place on Pentecost Sunday. Each year more than 400 boats take part, with entrants from over 50 Venetian rowing clubs, as well as people from all over the world; in the past these have included a Chinese crew in a dragon boat and a local resident who has twice swam the entire course of the race! The race starts and finishes in St Mark's Basin, with the course taking the rowers across the lagoon to Burano Island and back through Cannaregio. 2018 dates to be confirmed.

This, the main event in the annual 'Voga alla Veneta' rowing calendar has been practiced in Venice for thousands of years. 16th Century style boats and gondoliers clad in period attire sail up the Grand Canal in a colourful parade before the actual races begin. There are four races - the most exciting being the Campioni su Gondolini where a series of small racing gondolas fly down the Grand Canal to the finishing line at the 'machina', the spectacular floating stage situated in front of the Ca' Foscari palace.

Jesolo hosts a spectacular European air show every year in August, watched by more than 500,000 spectators on the beach. For over three hours the Italian Air Force,  Italian Acrobatics Team and other air forces, show off their flying skills above the waterfront.

Burano Regatta

The last Venetian regatta of the season takes place around the island of Burano which you can easily reach from Venice via boat. The event usually begins late in the afternoon - around 4pm. The regatta is visible from land (particularly from the ferry point on Burano), allowing you to take in the wonderful views of gondolas and mascarete with ease. Note: You can easily reach Venice by the ferry from the port of Punta Sabbioni. 2018 date to be confirmed.
