The city of Innsbruck is about 10km from the parc and is home to the eighteenth century Cathedral at Saint Jacob, the Triumphal Arch, St. Anna's Column, botanical gardens and numerous museums, as well as being widely recognised as a great winter sports location. There's fun for children at the Alpen Zoo, as well as Eurokart Motorsport in Innsbruck.

The children will have loads of fun at ‘Alpen Zoo’ which has 140 species of animal native to the Alps, living in natural surroundings. It's the highest zoo in Europe, nearly 730 metres above sea level so take a cable car and see amazing views on the way up.

There are some stunning sites to see: the 18th century Cathedral at St Jacob, the Triumphal Arch, St. Anna’s Column, botanical gardens and numerous museums. It's also home to the famous ‘Goldenes Dachi Museum’ with its glistening golden roof.

Established in 1994, Klangspuren is a festival of contemporary music seeking out new musical talent. It also offers its own unique education programme in culture and music within schools and pre-schools. 2018 sees the 25th anniversary of the festival and the return of the 'musical pilgrimage' along the Way of St James (on the Karwendel mountain range) with six short concerts taking place in venues on the route.

Off Parc Activities

Natterer See is ideally placed for discovering the mountains of the Tirol on foot or by bike and many walking and cycling tracks take you directly from the parc and lead you from one stunning panorama to another. To relax in the stunning surroundings why not go fishing, just 6 km from the parc? If you would prefer a faster pace then there is fun for the whole family at ‘Eurokart Motorsport’ in Innsbruck. Innsbruck is surrounded by three snow-capped mountain ranges making it a great winter sports location, hence holding the winter Olympics on more than one occasion. For some family fun there is mini-golf, tennis courts, football pitches, squash courts and horse riding facilities all less than 10 km away.
