Know Before You Go - Our Travel Tips
Thanks to the Eurotunnel and a vast choice of ferry crossing, taking your car to the continent has never been easier. What's more Le Ranolien is ideally located on the coast, close to the Western channel ports.
To minimise the driving in France, take an overnight or daytime sailing from Plymouth to Roscoff with Brittany Ferries and enjoy a leisurely drive to your parc.
Further afield, but well connected to the motorway network, the port of Caen Ouistreham offers flexible sailing options from Portsmouth.
Alternatively, try the popular overnight sailing from Portsmouth to St Malo and arrive rested and ready for a morning drive. Please note the return sailing from St Malo is normally a mid morning sailing - if you want to catch this you will need a stopover close to port.
Travelling from Calais? Why not take a break and try out one of our parcs in Normandy or Picardy.
- Please note your accommodation on parc is available from 3pm on your day of arrival.
- France has introduced driving restrictions in Paris and some other cities; a Crit'Air sticker should be displayed or you may be fined. Click here for more details.
- Don't forget the time difference! Europe is 1 hour ahead of UK time.
- More time on the ferry or more time on the road? When comparing the different route options, do remember to allow for motorway tolls and fuel costs.
- Quick converter: 50 miles is just over 80km.
