Near to one of Brittany’s best beaches

One thing Brittany certainly isn’t short of magnificent beaches. So when we tell you that Des Menhirs is next to one of the best, you’ll know you’re in for a real treat. Des Menhirs features an excellent swimming pool complex with exciting new waterslides for 2018, including the awesome spacebowl - check out the artist's impression of the new multicoloured slides in our gallery.

If you’re looking to explore, hire bikes to cycle around the peninsula and spot old fishing ports.  But don’t worry, it’s not action non-stop here; swing by the Jacuzzi and unwind at your leisure. The parc is also just a short stroll from the bustling seaside resort of Carnac Plage, which offers a wide choice of water sports, restaurants and boutiques.

This is a lovely, clean, safe, friendly, smallish site, with excellent service provided by the Eurocamp couriers, who were highly visible and easily approachable. The swimming pool complex is fantastic, with 2 superb, friendly lifeguards, Quentin and Luis. Unlike UK lifeguards who are so H&S fixated and make the swimming experience unenjoyable, Quentin and Luis although friendly and talkative, just blend into the background and allow anything pretty much as long as it is not unsafe or annoying to other guests. Brilliant. The policy of no swimming trunks for men (just speedo things) is in place, but not enforced. The new water shoots are brilliant, and our children loved them. The outdoor pool, although not the biggest seemed big enough, and it is heated all year round apparantely and the temperature of it was spot on. There seemed plenty of sunbeds, although almost no shade if it is scorching hot. The indoor pool is, nice. Nothing more than that; a pool, no slides.
The accommodation we stayed in was the cheapest of the cheap, and therefore I can't expect too much to be honest. It was beautifully stocked with all we needed, but lacking in space a bit, and the beds were hard, as they usually are.
The site is fantastically situated for Carnac itself, which has a terrific beach. A Super U supermarket is a 3 minute car drive away. As an example, a baguette at the site shop costed 1 euro 15; in the Super U it was 49c!
The kids club activities were lacking a bit really and not particularly organised; not a lot going on all the time.

We loved our holiday here, and would thoroughly recommend. Well done Eurocamp.

Hints, Tamworth
Very disapointing. Far too many Mobile homes for the size of the Parc. No space in between homes and what little space there was was very poorly maintained. Overgrown and very boggy due to poor drainage.
Having been to many Parc's in France over the years this was by far to worst for lack of space, privacy and very noisy.

Waiting for deposit to be returned for key fob... don't suppose i will ever recieve it mind

This was a wonderful site. The new swim pool is amazing. All staff were incredible. The only issue was that the caravan was tired. But with beaches that good we just loved the location.

We got this on a really good offer and overall we had a lovely time. But the pitches are so tiny that some people don't have room for their car and if you do fit your car in the space, there is nowhere for the children to run about or play ball. Your windows look directly onto another caravan so if you want privacy, this isn't the park for you. You're so close to each other that the slightest it of noise is magnified so that you might as well be in each others caravans. Caravan itself was a bit dirty and old but suited the purpose.
This was also marketed as a toddler friendly park but really, really isn't. There are no open, green spaces, the play park is for ages 3 plus and the pool is not bad but quite small and busy. Our almost two year old was going crazy because he was too young for pretty much everything. One of my biggest gripes however was the running of the pool. One of the lifeguards was quite rude and seriously on a power trip. He'd tell you off for everything and actually commented that English people are 'stupid' and don't we realise we're 'now in france.' He seemed to think we all don't speak basic French too and that it's OK to moan about customers that way as we won't understand. Considering they make a lot of money from English tourism they should be careful what they say about us publicly. They have a million rules for using the pool that they mostly choose to ignore but then go nuts if you break one or two specific ones! For instance, Heaven forbid someone left their flip-flops under a sun lounger instead of in their bag. I was shouted at for having mine half in my bag but visible as they'd been knocked out when my son got a toy out... I didn't even realise they'd fallen out. He couldve asked nicely! Instead he pointed his fingers and screamed at me about how 'its the rules' to have them in a bag or left outside'. I just put them back in my bag but I saw him physically wrestle others for their flip-flops or take them whilst they were in the pools and move them. A bit of madness really. Then theres those stupid ribbon wrist bands that you must wear or be screamed at too. Even got told my not quite two year old must wear his or we'd be asked to leave: Ridiculous considering hes so little and just refused and it was too big anyway - both me and my husband had ours on so what did it matter? Could do with some common sense! Oh, and they'll cost you a small fortune each if you lose them which is a rip off. Also you'll be shouted at for moving the sun loungers half and inch or to face the sun. I've never had that at a eurocamp before and I'm convinced the lifeguard was looking for a fight. Notice that it said no shorts or suncream in the pool too but even the lifeguards ignore that one! If you're going to have rules, at least implement them all for all people and don't pick on a few or why bother? We ended up leaving and forgetting the pool.
Be aware that they make you pay a deposit for a fob which left us with euros we couldn't spend at the end of our holiday but we'll save them for next year so not a massive biggie but don't remember it stating that specifically when we booked.
On the positive side, the eurocamp staff themselves were generally friendly and courteous and helpful. Also, the area surrounding the park is lovely. The beaches are gorgeous and you can hire bikes for the day if you're into that sort of thing. Our son had fun rock pooling and playing with the sand and when it rained we did the little tour train round the megaliths which was fun too. Lots of food shops close too so good location there.
We would return to carnac any day and would love to explore trinite sur mer just further up the coast line as well. But not this park.
