Packed full of history, Gerona, makes for a great day out away from the coast. Take a walk along the city walls and explore the medieval old town and Jewish quarter or Arab baths.  For a real contrast take in the modernist buildings along the Onyar River!

Pals and Begur

The local area is full of beautiful medieval villages and Pals and nearby Begur are two of the best! Pals is one of the most popular historical villages on the Costa Brava - set on a hilltop surrounded by rice fields it is an idyllic spot. Explore the narrow streets, quirky boutiques and lovely little plazas, then sit back and soak in the view.

Dali Museum

The Dali Museum in Figueres is the largest surrealistic object in the world with over 1,500 works of art. A bizarre and fascinating experience! Or head for Sant Ferran Castle - it's one of the largest in the world and has great views out to the coast, as well as a network of underground canals which you can explore by dinghy (book in advance).

Discover fine sandy beaches, peaceful coves and spectacular cliffs. The local area offers a varied coastline - choose a beach with more than 5 kilometers of fine sand and shallow waters, ideal for the whole family, or a small secluded cove that can be reached on foot or from a boat.



Aquabrava water park is only approximately 40 minutes away and offers an excellent selection of waterslides from really scary to gentle, with additional facilities for the little ones.

Medes Islands

Lying just a mile off the coast, in front of L’Estartit beach, the 7 craggy Medes Islands are an important marine flora and fauna reserve, and a hugely popular scuba diving destination. You can also take a trip in a glass-bottomed boat around the islands and along the equally stunning Montgrí coast.

To spot Catalonia’s wildlife explore the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, a nature reserve with a huge wetland for over 300 different species, including the Great Spotted Cuckoo and the Nightingale.

There are lots of watersports available locally and boat trips, scuba diving and kayaking are just 1 km away. The water is wonderfully warm and clear which makes it ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling. The area is also really popular with golfers as there are some excellent courses nearby.
