Capital of Catalonia and home to an array of famous and incredible buildings, Barcelona is most certainly worth the hour's journey while you're here. Take a trip south of the parc to the popular beach resort of Cambrils, where its superb beaches have been awarded with blue flag status, not forgetting the great choice of bars, restaurants and shops. The ancient city of Tarragona with its Roman amphitheatre and aqueduct is also within easy reach of the parc. Then for thrills and spills, spend a day at the excellent PortAventura theme park.

Port Aventura


For thrills and spills, head straight for PortAventura theme park. It has a great selection of rides and roller coasters, a fabulous aqua park and entertainment for the whole family. There are even three golf courses to choose from, making sure there is something for everyone.

Tarragona, Costa Dorada


Beautiful Tarragona has some impressive architecture, as well as great beaches. It is a must-see town with a feast of Roman remains, like the amphitheater and aqueduct. It's easily accessible as you can catch a bus there from outside the parc.

Barcelona, Costa Dorada


Don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit Barcelona whilst staying at this site. It has so many outstanding buildings and fabulous palm-lined boulevards which make it one of the loveliest cities in Spain.



A water park and safari park in one! There's rides such as the black hole and the super slalom as well as a safari park where you can get up close to elephants, and tigers on the safari bus. There's also a mini zoo where you'll fall in love with the meerkats and pot bellied pigs.

Cambils, Costa Dorada


The popular beach resort of Cambrils is just over half an hour away. As well as the Blue Flag beach, there is a great choice of bars, restaurants and shops, as well as a pretty harbour.

Grec Festival, Barcelona

Grec Festival

The Grec Festival is a month-long multi-cultural affair celebrating and showcasing various acts, from circus shows to choirs and much, much more. Each year Grec invites a plethora of acts to perform theatre, dance, music and more in magnificent venues across Barcelona. Grec Festival is a high brow affair offering a selection of world class artists across a range of disciplines. If you are in the area, this event is not to be missed. The programme is launched in Spring and tickets are usually available to buy from May.

Gracia festival

Gracia Festival

The Festa Major de Gracia festival is Barcelona's biggest, most colourful and most popular neighbourhood festival. The residents of Gracia decorate their streets in keeping with their chosen theme, with the aim of winning the coveted 'best decorated street' prize. The residents take the competition very seriously! As a result, the standard is very high. The best time to visit is in the evenings as the illuminations on most streets are switched on at around 8.30om.

La Merced Festival

La Merced Festival

Held in honour of Mare de Deu de la Merce, the Patron Saint of Barcelona, La Merced Festival is the main festival of the city. The main events take place on September 24 but festivities last over five days, with up to 500 different activities. Some of the most famous events are the Castellers (human towers) in the Gothic Quarter and the Correfoc (procession of fire breathing dragons) on the Via Laietana as well as the unmissable Parade of Giants.

Off Parc Activities

Soak up the sun at Tarragona beach or take a stroll along the shoreline. Or if you want to be more active then you could try your hand a windsurfing. You can fish just 100 m from the campsite or you can play golf or horse ride 8 km away.
